Lora and Steven, the parents of 13-year-old twin boys with autism, Jason and Joshua, started looking for a church when their sons were about 5 years old. They knew church services tend to be controlled and quiet, while young children with autism don't necessarily exhibit either of those qualities, Lora Perry said. But they felt an emptiness in their lives without a church home.
