About 1,000 workers employed at the Maine State Prison in Warren and the state's two psychiatric hospitals have agreed to a new contract that provides for no wage increases, a state official said Tuesday.

The workers, represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, ratified the contract Monday night, said Alicia Kellogg, state Bureau of Human Resources director.
