Summary
Eastern Connecticut State scored four runs in the first inning and held on to beat Southern Maine 5-4 Saturday night in an elimination game at the Little East Conference baseball tournament. Earlier in the day, top-seeded USM (29-15) lost 14-4 to Keene State (31-12) in a winners' bracket game. The tournament was moved from Gorham to Mahaney Diamond at the University of Maine in Orono and to Mansfield Stadium in Bangor because of persistent rain in the southern part of the state.
Against Eastern Connecticut (27-17), the Huskies were held scoreless by Jimmy Jagodzinski until they finally got a run in the seventh. USM added three in the eighth against reliever Justin Davis to make it 5-4, but Davis finished up for the save.See the full content of this document
