In preparation for new Department of Labor regulations that take effect Aug. 23, Moon, Moss, McGill & Shapiro, a Portland labor and employment law firm, will hold a seminar this week, "The New FLSA Regulations: Be Ready or Beware."
The seminar will provide an overview of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which governs minimum wage and overtime practices for employees. Revisions to the FLSA regulations, the most substantial since 1949, include white-collar exemptions for administrative, executive and professional employees.
