The lawyer for a man who was convicted in 2006 of brutally raping and attacking a Portland woman told Maine's highest court Tuesday that the trial was tainted.

Andrews Campbell asked the Maine Supreme Judicial Court to grant Brandon Drewry a new trial or overturn his 30-year prison sentence. He argued that Drewry would have been acquitted if the jury had been allowed to know that DNA from an unknown male had been collected from the victim.
