Are you kidding? I remember when the Press Herald thought that the Iraq war was a good idea and that Bush would be good for the United States and Maine. To your credit, you endorsed Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, who both voted in favor of the war. They may be moderate, but their backing of the Republicans is anything but good for Maine or anyone else.

John Atwood's Maine Voices column ("Don't give Democrats filibuster-proof Senate," July 23) is even more of the ridiculous writing that got us to where we are today.
