Summary
In 1998, Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams (more succinctly known as the Circus) released its self-produced debut album, "A Good Thief Tips His Hat." With a title like that, you know the musicians must be quirky and this quartet hailing from the Hudson Valley area of New York revels in its uniqueness.
In trying to describe the Circus' sound, various fans and critics have come up with things such as "hillbilly-Floyd," "folk pop" and "surreal Americana." Reinhard Holstein of Glitterhouse Records said, "It's as if David Bowie recorded 'Hunky Dory' with the Band in the basement of Big Pink."See the full content of this document
