The record federal deficits that threaten America's well-being will not be tamed if Congress is allowed to continue handing out tax cuts without making cuts in the budget to offset them.
Unfortunately, President Bush and Republicans on the House Budget Committee don't want to confront this reality. Instead, they hide behind the fantasy that cutting taxes can so stimulate the economy that the resulting revenues will make up for the loss to the treasury.
