A chilly breeze wasn't enough to keep Dave Myszka and his family from browsing the shops in Dock Square on Friday.

While hordes of people elbowed their way through the crowds at the Maine Mall and hiked across a sea of asphalt to their cars, Myszka held up a Christmas-tree ornament of a kayaking Santa that his wife had discovered in the back room at Copper Candle.
