Summary


For the second time, Brandon Thongsavanh will stand trial in the murder of Morgan McDuffee, a Bates College senior who was stabbed to death while trying to break up a street fight on March 3, 2002.

The state's case is essentially the same: Prosecutors will try to prove that Thongsavanh is guilty of an unprovoked attack against a defenseless victim. But because his first conviction was overturned by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court last year, the second trial will have some major differences.
