President Bush's endorsement of an Israeli plan to pull out of the Gaza strip and parts of the West Bank is irresponsible and could be a setback in fighting the war on terror.

Though it would appear at first blush that a withdrawal is exactly what the Palestinians have been after, the plan also would allow Israel to permanently retain large settlements in the West Bank.
