It's a tall order to police 853 square miles with only three officers. It's even harder when one of them isn't speaking to the other two.

But that's just what we've been asking of the two agencies that provide rural law enforcement in Cumberland County. At least now, the Maine State Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office have reached an agreement on how they will tackle this enormous job.
