Robert Drake, 92, Lived His Dream Leading Morning Sentinel

Summary


On his induction to the Maine Press Association Hall of Fame in 2002, Robert Drake told a reporter for the Morning Sentinel, the newspaper he had overseen as editor and assistant general manager for 23 years, that he had lived his dream.

"My goal when I was a kid was someday I wanted to be city editor and run the city room," Drake said. "As it turned out, I made my goal in 1946 ... and I wound up being editor of a small newspaper. My whole career was with that company."
