A tragic accident that killed a promising horse at Scarborough Downs last weekend has sharply renewed horsemen's desire for management to remove the hub rail that lines the inside perimeter of the track.
Highway Hanover, a 6-year-old trotter owned by Scott Dillon of Anson, died after slamming into the rail following a freak accident during the race.See the full content of this document

Though the hub rail did not cause the original accident, the Maine Harness Horsemen's Association sent a letter to the track this week requesting its removal, and has pledged to continue pursuing the subject.
