And so the football teams from Massabesic and Marshwood met again, for the second time in two weeks. But this time around, it was on a dry field, on a cold night and in an elimination game. But while No. 2 Massabesic extended its winning streak to eight with a 28-13 win over No. 7 Marshwood in the Western Class A playoffs, the Mustangs had to contend with a very different Hawks squad this time around, an emotionally charged Marshwood team looking to end a three- game losing streak.

"This is what we expected," Massabesic quarterback Ryan Knight said of the Hawks, who the Mustangs defeated 48-12 two weeks ago in a cold, pounding rain at Ronco Field. "We knew that they weren't happy with what they did the last time. We knew they'd come out hard. They didn't want to end the season, and we didn't want to end ours."
