Old Orchard Beach police and some residents are trying to stamp out the prom-night ritual of teens renting hotel rooms for a night of underage drinking after the dance. Police and a residents group dedicated to curbing underage drinking recently sent letters to 80 hotel and motel owners in southern Maine asking them to be careful not to host an underage party.
