The news about Lewis "Scooter" Libby had a twofold dimension this week. First, the former chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney was sentenced to 30 months in prison for lying in the Valerie Plame-CIA leak case this week. That set off a second issue - speculation about whether he will, or should be, pardoned by President Bush.
Let's look at the facts. Three months ago, Cheney's former top aide was found guilty of four felonies - two counts of perjury, one count of making false statements to the FBI and one count of obstructing justice. He was acquitted on a fifth charge.See the full content of this document
