Larry and Ginny Garside started Nordic walking at Pineland Farms to break up their weekly exercise ritual. They ended up getting an education in Europe's active culture. The avid outdoor couple learned that this sport, which is relatively new to the United States, has long helped enthusiasts in Europe expend more energy and work more muscle groups than is possible walking or even hiking.
