Even as most people might agree life has temporarily become a minor distraction from baseball, there are still those for whom Red Sox Nation remains a foreign country.

Given that baseball is the universal conversation these days, it would be easy to assume everyone is a Red Sox fan. But they are out there - nodding in quiet agreement, clapping only when others clap first, conducting crash courses in baseball self-education, waiting for it all to be over - people who suddenly find themselves strangers in a strange land without ever having left home.
