Safety programs created for teenagers and preteen children can easily miss the mark, despite the best intentions. It's not easy to strike the right balance of teaching a lesson while being somewhat "cool" in doing so.

The NetSmartz program, created partly through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, does hit the mark as a useful tool to learn about Internet safety.
