An updated version of William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" will travel from the mountains to the ocean in January and February, as the Theater at Monmouth launches an ambitious tour of the classic comedy.

While the show will play in such cities as Bangor and Augusta, the primary goal of the tour is to bring Shakespeare to rural communities and school districts that typically do not have the opportunity to see Shakespeare performed live, said David Greenham, director of the Theater at Monmouth.
