It's Magic, Even After 25 Years ; Joan Benoit Took Quite a Trek to Win the First Women's Olympic Marathon.

The image of Benoit circling the stadium track in August 1984 has been emblazoned on the psyches of those people - particularly those people from Maine - with even a passing interest in sport.

The 25th anniversary of the event comes next week. To commemorate the occasion, we asked for recollections from a variety of her friends and observers. In case you have forgotten a few of the details, or hadn't been born yet, here's a little refresher course.
