Because of weather, it took two days to decide who would represent the state in the U.S. Public Links Championship next month in Colorado. Ricky Jones of Thomaston edged Joe Alvarez of Hampden and Jesse Speirs of Bangor last week in the state qualifying tournament at Nonesuch River Golf Course in Scarborough.
