Jackie Tselikis, the school health coordinator for the Old Orchard Beach School Department and Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition, has received an award from the Maine Asthma Prevention and Control Program for her contributions in asthma education and prevention benefiting the state and the Maine Asthma and Control Program.

Tselikis has worked to reduce the burden of asthma, especially in schoolchildren, and has helped those affected by asthma to lead healthy and active lives. She is one of the authors of the Maine School Asthma Management Plan, chairman of the Maine School Health Advisory Committee, past president of the Maine Association of School Nurses and current legislative chairman and a member of the Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition.
