This last week in November finds only a few openings, including members' and textile exhibitions. Art Gallery at University of New England - Two shows open at the art gallery at the University of New England on Wednesday. Wit and Whim, works by John Kimball, features caricature paintings combining humor, whim, and literary perceptions. Woven for the Wall features fiber art by Priscilla Alden, Sarah Haskell, Sara Hotchkiss, Martha Roediger, Donald Talbot, and Bonnie Violet. The exhibits open with a reception on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. A gallery talk on modern and folk art is on Dec. 9 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The gallery is at the university's Westbrook College Campus at 716 Stevens Ave. in Portland. 12th Annual Members' Exhibition - Round Top Center for the Arts opens its annual members' exhibition on Friday with a reception from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition includes work by more than 150 artists featuring work such as paintings, ceramics, sculptures, prints, drawings, fiber, and photography. The exhibition runs through Dec. 30. Round Top Center for the Arts is on Business Route One in Damariscotta and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
