Summary


If a police chief in another state discovered that guns sold by a specific firearms dealer were being used to commit crimes in Maine, shouldn't he be able to notify his counterpart?

Most citizens would say that's a no-brainer. But a bill working its way though Congress would make it a felony for law enforcement officers to share crime-gun trace data with each other.
