Tensions flared Tuesday during a meeting in which the Town Council considered abolishing the Community Economic Development Committee, a volunteer advisory board that some councilors have criticized as unproductive. Some members of the committee say they have been seeking direction from the council without success.

The fate of the committee remained unresolved Tuesday. The council voted 3-2 to table the matter until April. Chairman Gary Foster, Vice Chairman Andy Upham and Skip Crane voted in favor and Denise Duda and John Welch were opposed.
