Although it has appeared for quite a few years that there was little interest in Augusta for significant improvements to legislative ethical standards, that situation finally may be changing.
Both Senate President Beth Edmonds, D-Freeport, and House Speaker Glenn Cummings, D-Portland, have sponsored bills that would make major changes in the ways legislators are held responsible to the voters.
