The fate of a sagging, 160-year-old granite-and-fieldstone bridge on Simpson Road could be decided by a team of international stone- bridge experts.

A Scottish bridge engineer and a Pennsylvanian stone mason are in town to give a fresh diagnosis of the slumping structure. For more than 150 years the stone bridge has carried traffic across Stackpole Creek, which empties into the Saco River near the Dayton border.
