Peter Anastos of Cousins Island is known as a staunch defender of Wyman Station, the oil-fired power plant on the island that many of his neighbors oppose for environmental reasons. But Anastos told the Yarmouth Town Council Thursday night that he is now a fierce opponent of a liquefied natural gas terminal on the Wyman Station property. He said it would be a threat to people's safety and to the quality of life in Casco Bay.

"I'm not usually with an environmental movement . . . (and) I'm loath to go against any kind of business," Anastos said.
