The latest audit of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has concluded that the diocese is complying with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, laid out by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to keep children safe and support victims of sexual abuse.

The audit, covering the year that ended June 30, was done by the Gavin Group and its principal Bill Gavin, a retired FBI investigator. It was the sixth year of the audits, which are done in dioceses across the country.
