The members of Maine's Congressional delegation are split over a bill to rewrite the nation's surveillance laws and give legal immunity to telecommunications companies that participated in the Bush administration's domestic eavesdropping program.

Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both Republicans, will vote for a bill to amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 when the Senate considers it after the July 4 holiday. Democratic Reps. Tom Allen and Michael Michaud voted against the bill in the House on June 20.
