A Buxton man is facing a felony cruelty to animals charge after police discovered malnourished dogs, a cat, two goats and a pony and several dead animals at his property along Rose Ridge Way.

Mark Coosard, 44, could face additional charges after the district attorney reviews the case, Buxton police officer Michael Grovo said Wednesday. Coosard's first court appearance is scheduled for April 19.
