Oposition to legalized gambling on these pages is not new, so it's no surprise that we do not support a ballot referendum authorizing a casino for Oxford County.
Even if we didn't believe that gambling takes more from an economy than it gives back, however, we'd have plenty of reason to oppose this specific proposal. As written, the law behind Question 2 on the November ballot is seriously flawed, and we endorse a "no" vote come Nov. 4.See the full content of this document
