Ferry Beach Ecology School is seeking volunteers to participate in its 9th annual Saco River Canoe-A-Thon and Cleanup on Saturday.
Participants will collect trash in their canoes from the public boat launch in Saco along a four-mile stretch of Saco River to Camp Ellis. Maggie Daigle, community relations director at the school, said every year volunteers pull a hazardous assortment of items out of the river such as tires, a car engine, a small freezer, kitchen appliances, a toilet and lots of plastic debris.See the full content of this document
