The ping of the aluminum bat meeting ball is barely audible above the music, a mix of contemporary hits blaring over the sound system in the Yarmouth High School gym. It is a warm but breezy sunny day. Yet the Clippers' softball team is inside the gym - a practice usually reserved for cold, early-spring days - working on a variety of hitting and fielding drills.
