Hospital Evacuated After Blast ; a Boiler Blows Up at Mainegeneral Medical Center's Seton Unit in Waterville. No Injuries Are Reported.

A heating boiler blew up Sunday night in the building housing the Seton Unit of MaineGeneral Medical Center, forcing 44 patients and 20 staff members to begin evacuating the hospital. No patients or staff members were injured in the blast, which was contained to the boiler room on the first floor of the six-story building, said Scott Bullock, MaineGeneral's chief executive officer.

Bullock said the explosion blew out several windows in the boiler room. He arrived soon after the 6:45 p.m. blast, as did about 20 Waterville firefighters.
