Allison was scheduled to be delivered by Caesarean section on Jan. 5 but she had other plans. Shortly after the New Year began at midnight, Kim started to have contractions. She and Matt spent much of the early morning hours timing the contractions and referring to books to try to help them determine if Kim was in labor. After assessing that the contractions were not regular and were mild, Kim thought she was experiencing false labor, something she had experienced with her first baby.
