Today's Afc Championship Game - Chargers (13-5) Vs. Patriots (17-0) ) ; 3 P.M.; Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass.; Channel 13

Summary

LAST WEEK: San Diego defeated Indianapolis, 28-24; New England defeated Jacksonville, 31-20

PATRIOTS OFFENSE: After quarterback Tom Brady completed all but two of his 28 passes last week, do you think the Patriots are going to do anything different than what they normally do? Of course not. Running back Laurence Maroney has run very well, with 122 yards against the Jaguars, but the Patriots will remain a pass-to-set-up- the-run team. If the Chargers concentrate on Randy Moss, like Jacksonville did in holding him to just one catch, then Brady will simply look elsewhere: to Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth, Kevin Faulk, Benjamin Watson or Jabar Gaffney. If the weather is as windy as predicted, the passes will likely be short. What New England has to do is avoid sacks and turnovers. San Diego plays a pressure defense that forced an NFL-high 48 turnovers during the regular season, plus five more in two playoff games. If the Patriots play error-free, Brady will have time to find his receivers and New England will control the tempo.
